Addressing the important issue of staff safety. Guardian Angel from Blue Chip Technologies is a unique and versatile wireless software solution, which is able to provide mobile workers with added security when away from base. With an increasing number of violent incidents being recorded in many areas of the country, responsible employers are recognising they have a duty to protect staff from the fear as well as from the reality of personal crime. Guardian is a software-based service for mobile phone users, which has been designed to help reduce anxiety and risk by enabling mobile staff to keep in close contact with their base. Staff are able to 'log on' to the system and enter the details and expected duration of a visit into their mobile phone. If they fail to 'log off' when the visit ends, the system activates a safety response. This response follows a client-defined set of rules. Guardian can easily be tailored to the specific needs of any organisation or a user group within any organisation, whether in the public or private sectors. This makes it a practical solution for, say, local authorities, NHS community based staff, Government workers who may wish to give an extra level of protection to mobile staff. |
